Every month the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) hosts a meeting for its member to make professional connections and learn more about the latest trends and critical issues impacting different industries. The SRM division of ServiceMaster by Hedden has been a prominent member of this association for years and uses these meeting to continually learn more about the commercial industry and create better relationships with industry professionals.
BOMA’s June meeting was held at Como Park Zoo and Conservatory and SRM sponsored the animal ambassador and giraffe feeding for this event. Members were greeted by the animal ambassador, Stefano the sloth, as they walked into the room. A zoo trainer was present as she feed Stefano corncobs and answered member’s questions on sloths and Stefano’s living conditions at the Como Zoo.
Michelle Furrer, Campus Director, and Allison Jungheim, Senior Keeper/Training Coordinator, led the meeting with their insight into how Como Zoo is operated, the up-keep on the buildings and animal enclosures, and fun-facts about how the animals interact with each other and the trainers.
After the meeting, BOMA members were invited to stay and feed Skeeter, the giraffe. Members were delighted as Skeeter came up to them and ate lettuce right out of their hands.
This was such a fun event and SRM was very happy to sponsor these interactive animal activities.
